A paraplegic man gets $8,000 from Disneyland after being stuck on the ride for 30 minutes

Jose Martinez, a disabled man, got $8,000 from Disneyland after becoming stuck for 30 minutes on the “It’s A Small World” ride. The incident took place on November 27th 2009 when the paraplegic man and his wife Christina Buchanan-Martinez went to the amusement park for the first time. While they were having a great time, the "It's A Small World" ride broke down, stranding him for a half of hour. Jose Martinez, who suffers from chronic problems with diabetes, hypertension and anxiety disorder, didn't medically stabilize for three hours after he became stuck. The 52-year-old man then sued Disneyland in 2011 and has been awarded $8,000. According to his attorney David Geffen, Jose was awarded $4,000 for “pain and suffering” and the rest was for a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
