“California's Gold” host Huell Howser dies at his home at the age of 67
“California's Gold” host Huell Howser died from natural causes at his home Sunday night (January 5, 2013). The seasoned TV man, who wrote, produced and edited most of his programs, was dead at the age of 67 after announcing his retirement in late November. Huell Howser began his TV career at WSM-TV in Nashville. He also hosted a magazine-style series at WCBS-TV in New York City before going to Los Angeles to work as a reporter for KCBS-TV. In addition to “California's Gold,” which is aired by PBS stations all over California, Oregon, Nevada and Tennessee, Huell Howser was also behind the shows including “Road Trip With Huell Howser,” “California's Golden Parks,” “Visiting…With Huell Howser.” Please share this story on Google+ and Facebook with your friends.
